Job summary

D2B is seeking an experienced Temporary Traffic Management Plan (TMP) Designer to work remotely on New Zealand projects. You will create accurate TMPs, diagrams, CARs, and permits, collaborating with NZ-based teams and road authorities to ensure safety and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in traffic management planning, strong NZGTTM knowledge, and excellent English communication. This is an independent contractor role with NZ business hours and 100% remote setup.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in traffic management planning, TMP design, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience preparing Traffic Management Plans for New Zealand projects.
• Strong working knowledge of NZGTTM principles and New Zealand RCA requirements.
• Experience preparing Corridor Access Requests (CARs), permits, and related documentation.
• Experience using RapidPlan or comparable TMP planning software.
• Ability to interpret project drawings, work methodologies, site information, and operational requirements.
• Understanding of risk-based temporary traffic management design.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong communication skills with clients, councils, and authorities.
• Ability to work independently and remotely with a New Zealand-based team.
• Reliable internet and a professional home-office setup.
• Availability to work New Zealand business hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update Traffic Management Plans in line with NZGTTM principles and RCA requirements.
• Develop clear traffic management diagrams and supporting documentation.
• Review project drawings, work methodologies, and site information before plans.
• Develop practical and risk-based temporary traffic management solutions.
• Prepare and coordinate CARs, permits, and related documentation.
• Submit plans and applications to relevant Road Controlling Authorities.
• Monitor approval progress and respond to RCA feedback and requests.
• Coordinate with Operations and STMS personnel to understand project needs.
