Two Connect is hiring a Junior Traffic Management Planner (NZ) to work from home. You will develop safe, compliant TMPs and manage the full planning workflow using RapidPlan, myTTM, and related tools.

The role targets detail-oriented professionals with 2–3 years in NZ traffic management planning, strong knowledge of local authority requirements, and the ability to balance 15–20 TMP applications weekly while maintaining quality and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Design, Traffic/Transport Planning, or a related discipline preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in New Zealand traffic management planning with knowledge of NZTA CoPTTM and NZGTTM.
• Proficiency in RapidPlan is essential; experience with myTTM, MyWorkSites, and other traffic management platforms is highly regarded.
• Ability to manage high-volume workloads (15–20 TMP apps per week) with accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop compliant Temporary Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), drawings, and documentation per NZTA CoPTTM and NZGTTM.
• Manage the full TMP workflow from request to submission, including council portal lodging and RFIs.
• Deliver safe, practical traffic management solutions meeting approvals and minimizing disruption.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and authorities to ensure on-site implementability.
• Handle a high-volume workload while maintaining accuracy, turnaround times, and compliance.

Description

We are seeking a Junior Traffic Management Planner to join a dynamic team. You will develop safe, compliant, and practical traffic management plans using industry-standard tools. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to continuous improvement in traffic management planning.

• Develop and prepare compliant Temporary Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), drawings, and supporting documentation in accordance with NZTA CoPTTM, NZGTTM, local authority requirements, and current New Zealand traffic management legislation using RapidPlan, myTTM, and other industry-standard tools.
• Manage the full TMP workflow from job request through submission, including interpreting job briefings, preparing site‑specific plans, lodging applications via council portals (including MyWorkSites where applicable), and tracking revisions, RFIs, and resubmissions.
• Deliver practical, safe, and high-quality traffic management solutions that protect road users, workers, and the public while minimising disruption and meeting authority, contractor, and client approval requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams, supervisors, field staff, clients, and operational divisions (including civil works and tree services) to clarify requirements, resolve compliance and design queries, and ensure plans are implementable on site.
• Handle a high-volume workload of approximately 15–20 TMP applications per week, balancing both small and large projects while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and turnaround times.
• Apply internal risk assessment and profiling processes, maintain strong knowledge of NZTA CoPTTM, NZGTTM, local authority traffic management requirements, and safety regulations, and stay up to date with changes to legislation, systems, and industry practices.
• Support continuous improvement by assisting with onboarding and training for new systems and compliance requirements, contributing to workflow and template enhancements, and providing guidance to junior team members as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Design, Traffic/Transport Planning, or a related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in New Zealand traffic management planning, with strong knowledge of NZTA CoPTTM, NZGTTM, local authority requirements, and practical TMP application.
• Proficiency in RapidPlan is essential; experience with myTTM, MyWorkSites, and other traffic management design, measurement, or digital workflow platforms is highly regarded.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads (15–20+ TMP applications per week) while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and quality.
• Strong understanding of traffic management risk assessment, risk profiling, and safety requirements, with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical documentation and liaising with councils, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications, with the ability to work collaboratively, adapt to new systems and compliance frameworks, and contribute effectively within a team.
