Job summary

Liston Newton Advisory is seeking an Offshore Junior TAX Accountant for the Philippines, working full time and remotely. You will handle tax compliance, financial accounts, and activity statements for Australian clients, collaborating with both Philippine and Australian teams.

The role targets individuals with 2+ years Australian accounting experience, proficient with Xero and related tools, and a strong commitment to long‑term growth in Australian accounting and tax.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting or relevant field.
• Minimum 2+ years of Australian business services accounting and taxation experience in an Australian accounting firm.
• Experience using Xero, Xero Practice Manager, Class, Business Fitness Active Workpapers and MS Office.
• Knowledge of Asana, Deputy, SharePoint, Hubdoc is desirable.
• Tech-savvy and quick to adapt to new software and AI-driven tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
• Prepare tax reconciliations and electronic workpapers to support each return.
• Prepare and update tax provision schedules.
• Prepare BAS and Instalment Activity Statements, and related senior duties.
• Process and prepare financial statements for clients up to trial balance.
• Prepare year-end adjustments and reconciliations.
• Review GST, payroll and superannuation coding to ensure lodgement readiness.
• Support ASIC and company secretarial activities as needed.
