Job summary
Nordic Global is seeking a Storage Engineer I to join our Information Technology team in a remote capacity. You will work on major projects, coordinate with vendors, and document solutions to standard practices.
The role requires hands-on experience with Rubrik, EMC PowerMax, NetApp, and VMware, plus UNIX/Linux. You will monitor storage performance, participate in technology evaluations, and contribute to knowledge bases and policies.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Enterprise Storage Engineering experience.
- Hands-on with Rubrik Backup/Recovery solutions.
- Experience with de-duplication and compression technologies.
- Familiar with VMWare VADP/VCB backup APIs.
- Knowledge of EMC PowerMax and NetApp ONTAP AFF storage systems.
- Unix/Linux operating system knowledge.
- Ability to author technical documents and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide training and mentoring on technologies to peers.
- Engage with vendors for tier 2/3 troubleshooting and resolution.
- Evaluate, test and analyze impact of software/firmware updates.
- Tune systems for optimum performance in multi-tier environments.
- Analyze and improve system performance, availability and reliability.
- Diagnose storage and backup failures and develop procedures.
- Operate, service, troubleshoot, and administer storage technologies (SAN/NAS).
- Coordinate hardware break-fix and high-availability configurations.
