Job summary

NQX Philippines seeks a Senior Data Storage and Backup Engineer to manage enterprise storage and backup environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability. You will oversee day-to-day storage and backup operations, monitor and troubleshoot, and support data migrations while collaborating with system administrators in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in storage and backup design and administration.
• Proven experience with NetBackup and Commvault in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with NetApp ONTAP and SAN architectures.
• Familiarity with multiprotocol storage (FC, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS).

Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end storage and backup infrastructure solutions based on customer requirements (NetBackup, Commvault).
• Manage the full lifecycle of storage and backup infrastructure across FC, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS in NetApp NAS.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis to ensure data availability and integrity.
• Support data migrations and coordinate with system administrators for performance optimization.
• Develop CLI scripts for NetBackup and network configurations; automate repetitive tasks.
• Plan storage array changes, firmware updates, and storage virtualization.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders in an Agile environment to define requirements.
