Job summary

RunRemote is sourcing a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant for an Australian property development and civil construction client. You will handle high-volume bookkeeping across multiple projects, coding in Xero, and ensuring accurate cost tracking and BAS lodgement.

This 100% remote, full-time role operates to AU time (9:00–18:00). Candidates should have 5+ years of Australian bookkeeping experience and a knack for process automation and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of Australian-based bookkeeping or accounting, ideally senior-level, managing high-volume transactions.
• Solid knowledge of Xero, bank reconciliation, AP, expense coding, and financial recordkeeping.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting requirements, GST, BAS preparation and lodgement.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple property development, JV, and civil construction projects.
• Process, reconcile, and code supplier invoices, consultant fees, credit card transactions, and receipts in Xero.
• Allocate expenses to project, entity, and cost category for accurate reporting.
• Follow up with team, contractors, and consultants for missing invoices and documents.
• Review invoices to verify charges against project records and delivery documentation.
• Manage weekly accounts payable preparation and payment schedules; final payments with client.
• Prepare and lodge monthly BAS with supporting documentation.
