Job summary

Med-Metrix, LLC is seeking a Quality Analyst for Outpatient Medical Coding (IVR/SDS) to ensure accurate, compliant coding across SDS and IR services. The role leads audits, provides coder coaching, and partners with Training/Ops to drive quality outcomes and reduce denials.

Work mode is remote with strong adherence to HIPAA-compliant privacy policies. Responsibilities include auditing SDS and IR encounters, supervising coding accuracy, and communicating findings to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or equivalent experience.
• Certifications: CPC required; CIRCC strongly preferred for IVR.
• Experience: 2 years SDS/IR QA experience.
• Background in Outpatient services (SDS, IVR/Cardio, OBS, ED, ANCI, RADIOLOGY).
• Advanced IR coding proficiency (catheterization hierarchies, S&I, bundling).
• SDS coding expertise (outpatient procedures).
• Exceptional written/verbal communication and coaching skills.
• Proficiency with encoder tools, EMR/EHRs, and audit platforms.

Responsibilities

• Audit SDS and IR encounters for CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10-CM assignments, modifiers, and charge capture.
• Review code selection for IR procedures (vascular and non-vascular) and ensure correct add-ons, laterality, and I&S codes.
• Audit outpatient surgical cases for correct coding and modifiers; ensure linkage of diagnosis to procedures.
• Produce audit findings, trend analyses, and actionable recommendations; provide coder coaching and training.
• Maintain audit schedules and documentation; collaborate with leadership on denials prevention and compliance.
• Utilize coding software to assign accurate codes, abstract records, and generate data for billing and reporting.
