Job summary

Somewhere is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant for construction, focusing on MEP/HVAC projects. This full-time, remote role in the Philippines involves managing job costing, billing, and financial visibility across multiple active jobs.

You will collaborate with project managers and operations to ensure accurate costs, timely invoices, and proper documentation, with US hours overlap preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years of experience in project accounting within construction.
• Experience with job costing and project-based accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.
• Exposure to MEP, HVAC construction environments preferred.
• Experience with Procore or similar construction/project management platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting functions for assigned construction projects from initiation through closeout.
• Maintain job cost tracking for labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
• Monitor project budgets and identify cost variances.
• Prepare and manage owner billings and progress invoices.
• Process billing through systems such as Procore or similar platforms.
• Track contract values, change orders, and billing status.
• Process vendor invoices and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure proper coding and allocation of costs to projects.
• Maintain accurate records of all project-related financial transactions.
• Track and manage project compliance documentation (lien waivers, insurance, etc.).
• Ensure all financial processes align with internal controls and regulatory standards.
• Generate project-level financial reports including job cost reports, accounts receivable, and contract status reports.
• Partner with project managers to provide financial insights and updates.
• Support month-end close and reconciliations related to project accounts.
