Job summary

CoverGo, a leading insurtech platform, seeks a qualified legal professional to support CIO, security teams, and product developers. You will draft and negotiate DPAs, security addenda, and SaaS contracts, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws and evolving governance standards.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external counsel, handling regulatory matters, data breaches, and commercial agreements to drive business decisions while maintaining rigorous legal risk management.

Qualifications

• Must hold a law degree from an accredited institution.
• Qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction (e.g., Philippine Bar).
• Experience handling tech, privacy, or security matters in a firm or in-house.
• Proven track record in drafting, reviewing, and editing contracts.
• Strong research and analytical skills with excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main legal support to CIO, Head of Security, and tech team; translate technical requirements into precise legal language.
• Draft, review, and negotiate technical agreements including DPAs and Security Addenda; assess compliance risks.
• Keep documents compliant with privacy laws (GDPR or local equivalents); monitor privacy, cybersecurity, AI governance developments.
• Develop and implement internal processes to meet technical and regulatory requirements.
• Support responses to data breaches and security incidents; coordinate with internal teams.
• Assist in responding to RFPs and due diligence questionnaires; provide CoverGo's legal positions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (SaaS, service, vendor); advise on risks and positions.
• Collaborate with Legal Counsel, internal teams, external counsel, and clients; support other legal tasks.
