Job summary

CoverGo, the Insurtech market leader, seeks a skilled in-house legal professional to support the CIO, Head of Security, and tech teams. Translate technical requirements into precise legal language, and draft/negotiate DPAs, Security Addenda, and SaaS contracts with a focus on data privacy compliance.

Date privacy and cybersecurity expertise will help maintain policy alignment, respond to incidents, and support business through RFPs and commercial agreements.

Qualifications

• Must possess a legal degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Legal Practitioner, Legal Assistant, Legal Officer, Paralegal, or similar role.
• Qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction (e.g., passed the Philippine Bar Examination).
• Experience handling tech, privacy or security matters (in-house or firm).
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and editing contracts.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main legal support to the CIO, Head of Security, and tech team; translate technical specs into precise legal language.
• Draft, review, and negotiate technical agreements (DPAs, Security Addenda, SaaS contracts).
• Keep documents compliant with data privacy laws (GDPR/local equivalents); monitor privacy developments.
• Develop and implement internal processes ensuring regulatory adherence.
• Support data breach responses and coordinate with internal teams.
