Job summary

CoverGo is seeking a Philippines-based Legal Counsel for a fully remote role. You will draft and negotiate commercial agreements, advise on HR and corporate matters, and ensure compliance across contracts and data privacy.

A Law degree and 2+ years of relevant experience are required. You will collaborate with internal teams and external counsel, handling IP matters and NDA reviews, while supporting RFPs and due diligence activities.

Qualifications

• Must possess a legal degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Practitioner, Legal Assistant, Legal Officer, Paralegal, or similar role.
• Experience in a tech company is a plus.
• Qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction (e.g., Philippine Bar).
• Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and editing contracts.
• Experience in commercial contracts, corporate housekeeping, or employment matters is a major advantage.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (SaaS, service, and vendor) and advise on legal positions and risks.
• Advise HR on personnel matters and draft HR-related agreements.
• Handle corporate housekeeping and maintain organized records of legal documents.
• Develop and improve internal legal processes, templates, and policies.
• Support privacy and security teams on Data Processing Agreements and Security Addenda.
• Review NDAs and track contract obligations, renewals, and deadlines.
• Manage intellectual property filings, renewals, and related matters.
• Communicate with clients and third parties on legal matters, including negotiations.
• Support RFPs and due diligence questionnaires with legal input.
