Job summary

Pearl is seeking a Database Engineer to design clean PostgreSQL schemas, write efficient SQL, and enable reporting and AI features. This fully remote role supports LATAM and the Philippines, aligning with global teams.

You will extend the Postgres schema across recruiting and operations, build views and derived tables, and optimize queries with indexing and partitioning. A schema audit and measurable p95 gains are expected within months.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working with production PostgreSQL databases.
• Advanced SQL: window functions, CTEs, JSONB, EXPLAIN analysis.
• Relational data modeling for OLTP and analytical use cases.
• Defining and enforcing PII, data-classification, and retention policies.
• Git-based schema-migration workflows with PR review.
• Basic Python scripting for data operations and validation.
• B2+ English reading/writing for technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Extend and evolve the Postgres schema across recruiting, candidates, and business operations.
• Build SQL views and derived tables for reporting and AI consumption.
• Optimize query performance through indexing, partitioning, and execution-plan analysis.
• Ship top-priority fixes after a schema audit within 3–6 months.
• Collaborate with Engineering and AI teams on data foundations.
