Job summary

MicroSourcing invites applications for an Executive Assistant – Overnight Monitoring. This remote role supports our operations by watching a dedicated Slack channel for system health updates and escalating issues per runbooks.

You will not troubleshoot; you will acknowledge alerts and coordinate with engineers. Shift schedule is overnight in APAC-friendly hours: Monday–Friday 5:00 PM–8:00 AM AEST/AEDT with full weekend coverage, working from home with reliable internet.

• Reliable internet connection and the ability to actively monitor Slack in real time.
• Ability to follow structured checklists, runbooks, and escalation procedures accurately.

Responsibilities

• Monitor a dedicated Slack channel for automated system health-check updates.
• Review regular component status and identify healthy, failing, or missing alerts.
• Follow escalation checklist when a failure or missing health-check occurs.
• Acknowledge alerts and elevate issues to engineering teams.
• Make urgent calls or messages for high-severity alerts when required.
• Record basic incident details during escalations.
• Maintain confidentiality of information viewed through monitoring.
• Remain alert and responsive during overnight and weekend shifts.
• Follow runbooks and response-time expectations consistently.

Your Role:

• Monitor a dedicated Slack channel for automated system health-check updates.
• Review regular component status updates and identify healthy, failing, or missing alerts.
• Follow a documented escalation checklist when a component reports a failure or an expected health-check is not received.
• Acknowledge alerts and promptly elevate issues to the appropriate engineering team member.
• Make urgent phone calls or contact designated escalation points when critical alerts require immediate attention.
• Record basic incident details, including the affected component, time of occurrence, and recurrence, when escalating an issue.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information viewed through the monitoring channel.
• Remain alert and responsive throughout the assigned shift, including overnight and weekend coverage.
• Follow established runbooks, escalation procedures, and response-time expectations consistently.

What You Will NOT Do:

• You will not troubleshoot, restart, repair, or remediate technical issues.
• You will not access customer systems, servers, or infrastructure.
• You will not contact end customers directly.
• All technical investigation and remediation will be handled by TruRec AI's engineering team.

What You Need:

Non-negotiables

• Availability and alertness during the required schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–8:00 AM AEST/AEDT, plus full weekend coverage.
• Reliable internet connection and the ability to actively monitor Slack in real time.
• Ability to follow structured checklists, runbooks, and escalation procedures accurately.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to respond promptly, including making urgent calls or messages when required.
• Exceptional attention to detail, reliability, and accountability, particularly when handling time-sensitive alerts.
• Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information.

Preferred skills/expertise

• Previous experience in monitoring, NOC, customer support, operations, virtual assistance, or similar "eyes-on-glass" roles.
• Experience working with Slack or other real-time communication and monitoring platforms.
• Ability to remain focused and attentive during extended overnight shifts.
• Strong judgment in recognizing when an issue requires immediate escalation.
• Comfortable working independently while coordinating with an offshore or distributed team.

Hours & Logistics

• Monday–Friday: 5:00 PM–8:00 AM AEST/AEDT
• Saturday & Sunday: 24-hour coverage
• Communication is primarily through Slack, with phone or urgent contact used for high-severity alerts.
• Training will be provided on the monitoring dashboard, alert types, escalation procedures, and designated contacts before the start date.
• Escalation contacts and response-time expectations will be confirmed before the placed candidate's start date.
