Job summary

Connext is hiring a Medical Scribe to support telemedicine visits for a US-based client. The role focuses on real-time documentation, ophthalmology-specific notes, and HIPAA compliance, all from a remote home setting.

The ideal candidate has a nursing-related degree and EMR experience. Responsibilities include documenting patient encounters, coordinating with providers and pharmacies, and ensuring accurate records across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field required.
• At least 2 years of experience as a medical scribe or in healthcare documentation.
• Experience using EMR systems.
• Minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute.
• Knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology; ophthalmology experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attends virtual telemedicine appointments and documents medical histories, chief complaints, exams, assessments, diagnostic findings, and treatment plans in EMR systems.
• Maintains ophthalmology documentation including visual acuity, intraocular pressure, slit lamp findings, and retinal evaluations.
• Updates and manages EMRs in real time to ensure completeness and compliance.
• Assists providers in sending prescriptions and communicating updates to pharmacies and referral optometrists.
• Coordinates with front desk teams to schedule follow-ups, surgeries, and additional testing based on provider recommendations.
• Facilitates communication between providers and patients to improve clarity and continuity of care.
• Ensures documentation accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
• Works independently in a remote setting while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Adapts to varying provider schedules across time zones.
