Job summary

CoverGo, a global insurtech leader, is hiring a PH-based Legal Counsel to join our international team. You will draft, review, and negotiate commercial and HR agreements, advise on employment terms, and support data privacy and regulatory matters in a fast-growing fintech environment.

You have a law degree and at least 2 years of experience as a practitioner or paralegal, with strong English communication and meticulous contract drafting.

Qualifications

• Must possess a law degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Legal Practitioner, Legal Assistant, Legal Officer, Paralegal, or similar role.
• Experience in a tech company is a plus, but not required.
• Qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction is an advantage (e.g., Philippine Bar).
• Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and editing contracts.
• Experience in commercial contracts, corporate housekeeping, or employment matters is a major advantage.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, such as SaaS, service, and vendor agreements, and advise internal teams on legal positions and risks.
• Advise HR on personnel matters, employment terms, and draft HR-related agreements.
• Handle corporate housekeeping and maintain organized records of legal documents and contracts.
• Develop and improve internal legal processes, templates, and policies.
• Support privacy and technology matters with the technical and security teams as needed.
• Review NDAs and track contract obligations, renewals, and deadlines.
