Job summary

SmartWorks is seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist to join a fully distributed team. The role focuses on supporting Linux OS, databases, networking, and cloud-based infrastructure while contributing to QA automation and deployment initiatives.

You will work across Sales, Professional Services, and Support from a remote setting, requiring strong ownership, testing, and automation skills to ensure reliable systems for customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production environment work experience.
• Must have experience supporting Linux OS (RHEL/CentOS or equivalent).
• Network administration including firewalls and VPNs.
• College diploma or university degree in computer sciences or related field.
• Experience with cloud-based virtual systems, networking and storage.
• Expertise with relational databases (Oracle or PostgreSQL or similar).
• Expertise using Terraform and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Manage SmartWorks hosted client application systems and internal R&D development systems, databases, networking and storage.
• Provide OS and database support for customers.
• Develop and maintain automated unit test suites.
• Install, configure, and maintain QA infrastructure.
• Perform bug fixes and source code maintenance tasks.
• Design testing plans and strategies for different testing types.
• Collaborate with sales to provide technical details for proposals.
• Remotely install and configure hardware, OS, and database platforms during implementation projects.
