Job summary

BairesDev, a global technology leader with 15+ years of experience, is seeking a Power Systems Engineer. You will maintain IBM Power and IBMi environments, ensuring reliability, security, and enterprise performance.

Work entirely remotely, with flexible hours and USD or local currency compensation. You will manage PowerVM, HMC, PowerHA, RPG/CL, and Fortra toolsets, to optimize workloads and automate processes. Collaborate with a diverse global team and seize mentorship and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

4+ years of IBM Power Systems engineering or IBMi administration.
Proficiency with IBMi (OS/400) and RPG development.
Experience with PowerHA, PowerVM, and HMC.
Familiarity with Fortra toolsets.
Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute the design, implementation, and end-to-end support of IBM Power servers and IBMi partitions.
Manage virtualization and system resources through HMC and PowerVM to maintain high-performance workloads.
Develop custom business logic and system automations using RPG and CL scripting.
Implement robust high-availability and disaster recovery strategies utilizing PowerHA or similar solutions.
Optimize system management workflows by integrating and maintaining Fortra toolsets.
Oversee proactive system health through regular patching, firmware updates, and performance tuning of IBMi environments.
