Qualifications

• 1 year of experience with U.S. healthcare billing, AR, and insurance claim follow-up.
• Hands-on experience using SimplePractice.
• Knowledge of EOBs, claim statuses, denials, payments, and payer follow-up processes.
• Experience communicating with major commercial insurance carriers.
• Excellent attention to detail when entering claim information and monitoring payment statuses.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Consistent attendance, reliable follow-through, and meeting deadlines.
• Proactive updates and escalation of challenging claims.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and PHI handling.
• Comfortable managing a high-priority AR backlog.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding insurance claims.
• Track EOBs, claim statuses, payments, denials, and unresolved balances.
• Enter, review, and update claim information in SimplePractice.
• Follow up with insurance carriers such as Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and the Veterans Community Care Network.
• Identify delayed, denied, underpaid, or unresolved claims and escalate as needed.
• Maintain documentation of claim follow-ups and payer responses.
• Communicate with the external billing team regarding submissions, delays, and concerns.
• Troubleshoot claim issues and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
• Monitor delayed submissions and unresolved billing issues.
• Provide proactive status updates to client and team.
