Job summary

BairesDev is seeking a Geospatial Data Engineer to design and build automated ETL pipelines for large-scale geospatial datasets, including satellite imagery and GPS data. You will develop and optimize PostGIS-centric queries, build robust ingestion workflows for GeoParquet, and ensure data quality across diverse sources.

Collaboration with data scientists will support spatial modeling and remote sensing requirements.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, GIS, or Geospatial development.
Proven expertise in building and maintaining data pipelines for satellite imagery, GPS, and spatial datasets.
Proficiency with spatial databases and storage formats, specifically PostGIS and GeoParquet.
Hands-on experience with spatial ETL processes and geospatial tools.
Advanced proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage automated ETL pipelines for large-scale geospatial datasets and satellite imagery.
Develop and optimize spatial queries and indexing strategies using PostGIS to ensure high-performance data retrieval.
Build robust data ingestion workflows for formats like GeoParquet and spatial datasets.
Clean, validate, and standardize diverse geospatial data sources for accuracy and CRS consistency.
Collaborate with data scientists to support spatial modeling, visualization, and remote sensing needs.
Automate repetitive spatial data processing tasks using Python and orchestration tools.
