Med-Metrix is seeking a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist to join a fully remote team. You will validate inpatient documentation, ensure accurate severity of illness and DRG assignments, and collaborate with physicians and staff to close documentation gaps.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in CDI, nursing licensure, and CDI tool proficiency, with strong analytical and communication skills. This remote role offers professional development and HIPAA compliance focus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in clinical documentation improvement preferred.
• Active RN/MD/DO/NP/PA license required.
• Coding credentials are a plus.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 guidelines and DRG systems.
• Proficient with CDI tools and MS Office.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• High integrity with urgency and results orientation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze medical records for incomplete or inaccurate documentation.
• Perform concurrent chart reviews to support accurate coding and reimbursement.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to clarify documentation.
• Conduct training on documentation best practices and coding guidelines.
• Participate in quality initiatives to improve documentation integrity.
• Maintain PHI in accordance with HIPAA policies.
