Job summary

Penbrothers is seeking a Bookkeeper & Operations Specialist to support a US-based education client across bookkeeping, payroll, AR, student accounts, HR administration, and daily operations.

This hands-on role requires strong organization, independent work across multiple functions, and proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel. You will help migrate activities from an external provider and grow financial operations while working remotely from the Philippines.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience.
• Strong experience using QuickBooks; QuickBooks Online preferred.
• Ability to independently manage core bookkeeping activities with minimal supervision.
• Strong Excel skills, including advanced functions.
• Experience with accounts receivable, invoicing, payment processing, reconciliations, and financial records.
• Experience preparing payroll data or supporting payroll processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping across the organization's businesses.
• Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks.
• Record revenues, expenses, and other transactions.
• Support month-end activities, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Help transition bookkeeping activities from external accounting to internal team.
• Identify discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
