Saphetor SA in the Philippines is seeking an Application Scientist in Bioinformatics to join our commercial team. You will support customers from pre‑sales discussions through onboarding and after‑sales deployment of VarSome across cloud and on‑premises environments.

The role requires translating technical IT and bioinformatics details into clear business value, engaging laboratory professionals and IT staff, and helping shape the product roadmap with field insights.

Qualifications

• Education: A Master’s or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
• Expertise: Hands‑on experience in bioinformatics, including NGS secondary and/or tertiary analysis workflows.
• Technical Knowledge: A solid grasp of variant classification frameworks and a deep understanding of bioinformatics and IT workflows.
• Communication: The ability to simplify complex bioinformatics and technical infrastructure concepts for researchers, clinicians, and IT professionals.
• Languages: Proficiency in English is a must. Fluency in other languages (e.g. Mandarin, Japanese or Korean) will be considered as a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pre‑sales Support: Deliver expert demonstrations bridging clinical needs with VarSome, owning the customer evaluation process.
• Post‑sales Support: Lead onboarding sessions for geneticists and bioinformaticians for rapid time to value, coordinating deployments.
• Workflow Optimization & Support: Fine‑tune filtering strategies and automation to maximize platform stickiness and cross‑functional coordination.
• Scientific Advocacy: Gather user feedback to influence the product roadmap and develop technical white papers.
• Cross‑functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Marketing, and Operations to ensure product‑market fit and growth.
