Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a mid-level backend engineer to join a fully remote product development team building modern digital products. You will own backend features from implementation to release, collaborating with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams on distributed architectures.

The role emphasizes clean code, collaboration, and continuous learning, with a project expected to run through February 2027 and a focus on modern engineering practices in a remote European/LATAM context.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop clean, maintainable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design, build, and maintain secure REST APIs and backend services for frontend applications and other systems.
• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas, queries, indexes, migrations, data models, and persistence layers using Hibernate/JPA.
• Translate product and business requirements into robust backend functionality and well-structured business logic.
• Develop and maintain microservices within distributed backend architectures.
• Implement third-party integrations, internal services, and other backend integrations based on project requirements.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, validation, and correct handling of edge cases.
• Write and maintain automated tests and collaborate with QA engineers to ensure feature coverage.
• Take ownership of assigned backend features from implementation through testing, release, and delivery.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, QA, DevOps, product managers, designers, and other backend developers to deliver complete product features.
• Identify and communicate unclear requirements, technical risks, dependencies, and blockers early.
• Participate in code reviews, pull requests, and collaborative development workflows.
• Contribute to improving engineering practices, code quality, maintainability, and team processes.
• Use AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to improve productivity while applying sound engineering judgment.
