Job summary

Synec Inc. is seeking a Backend Developer to build and maintain the core server-side systems behind our web and mobile products. You will think in APIs, data models, security, performance, and production reliability.

Remote (Philippines) and full-time, you will design backend services, APIs, and data models, ensuring security and performance under production conditions while collaborating with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver cohesive solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years backend development experience with Node.js, Python, or similar
• Strong API design, authentication/authorization, and database architecture
• Experience with PostgreSQL or relational databases; NoSQL knowledge where relevant
• Experience shipping backend services to production using cloud or containerized environments
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD, environment configs, logs, and debugging production issues
• Strong communication and collaboration with developers, designers, and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services, APIs, and data models for web and mobile software
• Ensure systems are secure, performant, and maintainable under production conditions
• Build integrations with third-party platforms (payments, email, auth providers, storage, tools)
• Write reusable service logic, validation layers, RBAC, and error handling patterns
• Define API contracts with frontend and mobile teams to reduce friction
• Participate in architecture planning, estimation, deployment workflows, and code reviews
• Monitor production issues, fix bugs, and improve observability
• Document backend decisions, endpoints, and setup requirements for team continuity
