Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join the Regulatory Change Assurance Hub in Manila. The role involves independent quality assurance reviews of regulatory change management controls, data, and processes, with a focus on strengthening outcomes and partnership with business stakeholders.

The successful candidate will support audits, examinations, and remediation closures, contributing to robust governance and continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience performing QA reviews, control testing, compliance testing, internal audit reviews, risk assessments, or similar assurance activities in financial services.
• Strong understanding of control frameworks, governance processes, risk management, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Experience evaluating design and effectiveness of controls, identifying gaps, and assessing supporting evidence.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to review complex processes, data, and documentation and draw objective conclusions.
• Ability to identify practical and risk-based solutions that improve processes while maintaining independence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting testing results, observations, issue validation assessments, or remediation closures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent quality assurance reviews of key Regulatory Change Management controls, processes, systems, and data to assess effectiveness.
• Perform targeted assessments of regulatory implementation activities to determine outcomes and sustainability.
• Provide practical review, challenge, and advice to senior management to ensure independent testing standards.
• Evaluate quality, completeness, accuracy, and reliability of regulatory data, reporting, and documentation.
• Assess adequacy of regulatory monitoring, horizon scanning, governance, and system interfaces.
• Execute QA methodology, conduct analysis, and document conclusions with evidence.
• Identify weaknesses and develop risk-based improvement recommendations in partnership with stakeholders.
• Support planning, evidence gathering, and observation development for reviews.
• Assist with remediation activity monitoring and closure validation.
• Draft observations and recommendations with practical resolution plans.
• Prepare high-quality reports for senior management, Internal Audit, Compliance, and regulatory audiences.
• Maintain and enhance QA methodologies, templates, and reporting processes.
• Monitor emerging issues and risk themes to strengthen processes across the organization.
• Participate in special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.
