Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the patient’s assessment for Philhealth YAKAP registration and performing medical procedures done in the laboratory. Nurses play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and utilization of PhilHealth benefits and services.

Key responsibilities:

A. Patient Assessment & Vital Signs

1. 1. Obtain comprehensive health history, including chief complaint, medical history, medication & allergies.
2. 2. Perform thorough Physical examination, assesing that patient’s overall condition and any specific issues.
3. 3. Monitor vital signs (Temperature, Pulse, BP)

B. Perform Procedures like ECG, Ishihara Color Vision Test & Visual Acuity Testing

1. 1. Prepare patients for ECG by explaining the procedure and obtaining necessary patient information.
2. 2. Operate the ECG machine and monitor the test to ensure high quality readings.
3. 3. Submit the recorded date and patient details to the cardiologist for review.
4. 4. Administer Ishihara test according to standardized protocols
5. 5. Perform visual acuity test and record patient’s measurements.

C. Assisting Doctor in UTZ Procedure

1. 1. Explain the ultrasound procedure to the patient
2. 2. Help position the patient appropriately for the exam
3. 3. Make the patient comfortable and calm throughout the procedure
4. 4. Provide instruction for any follow-up steps or aftercare

D. Documentation& Record Keeping

1. 1. Ensure proper documentation and compliance with PhilHealth requirements
2. 2. Document the test results, patient information, and relevant observations
3. 3. Ensure records are accurate, complete and up to date.

E. Patient Education and Advocacy

1. 1. Informing and educating patients about their PhilHealth benefits and entitlements

F. Coordination with PhilHealth Coordinator

1. 1. Communicating with PhilHealth coordinator regarding patient concerns or issues
2. 2. Providing feedback and recommendations to improve PhilHealth processes

G. Compliance and Quality Assurance

1. 1. Adhering to PhilHealth policies, guidelines, and standards of care
2. 2. Participating in quality improvement initiatives related to PhilHealth implementation.
