Job summary

PayU, India''s leading fintech platform, seeks a Regional Privacy Officer to support group entities in privacy governance and DPDP Act compliance. You will establish a group-wide privacy framework and align privacy standards with global practices, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer.

You will work with product, engineering, security and HR to implement privacy controls, conduct assessments, and raise awareness across the region.

Qualifications

• LL.B. degree from a reputed Indian law university/ college; privacy certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in privacy, legal, compliance, security or data management with privacy elements.
• Experience in implementing a privacy program.
• Background in FinTech, banking, NBFCs or e-commerce is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead PayU's privacy function and develop the privacy framework.
• Implement revised data privacy practices to align with the DPDP Act.
• Advise leadership on data governance matters and stakeholder privacy risks.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, security, and HR to mitigate privacy risks.
• Provide privacy compliance support including contracting and policy deployment.
• Drive privacy awareness initiatives and trainings.
