Qualifications

• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Solid GAAP understanding and reconciliation methodologies.
• Good organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Fluent English written and verbal communication; Filipino is advantageous.

About the role

Megawide Construction Corporation is seeking a Reconciliation Accountant (Fixed term) to join our Finance team on a contract basis. This role is based in Quezon City, Metro Manila and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our financial operations in a structured, defined-term position. As a Reconciliation Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records through meticulous reconciliation processes, supporting the broader financial accounting and reporting functions that underpin our organisational decision-making.

Key responsibilities

1. Perform regular bank account, credit card and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records

2. Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliation processes, documenting findings and corrective actions

3. Prepare and maintain comprehensive reconciliation schedules and working papers for audit and compliance purposes

4. Process and record journal entries related to reconciliation adjustments in accordance with accounting policies and procedures

5. Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements, ensuring all reconciliations are completed timely

6. Liaise with banking institutions and internal departments to obtain supporting documentation and clarify outstanding items

7. Monitor and track aged items and outstanding transactions, following up on their resolution

8. Support the Finance team with ad-hoc accounting tasks and special projects as required

9. Maintain accurate records and filing systems to ensure all reconciliation documentation is organised and retrievable

What we're looking for

1. A qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

2. Proven experience as a Reconciliation Accountant or similar accounting role, preferably within construction, manufacturing or financial services sectors

3. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex formulas and pivot tables

4. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently

5. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reconciliation methodologies

6. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple reconciliations simultaneously

7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Filipino is advantageous

8. Ability to work independently whilst demonstrating a collaborative approach within the Finance team
