Job summary

The Adecco Group seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to design and implement software for distributed embedded systems with multiple microcontrollers. The role focuses on real-time Ethernet and custom serial protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, IPC), bare metal and RTOS firmware, and ensuring safety and quality through MISRA, ASPICE, and ISO26262 guidelines.

Collaboration with hardware, V&V, and offshore teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience designing/implementing software for distributed embedded systems.
• Experience with real-time Ethernet communication.
• Experience developing custom serial protocols over UART, SPI, IPC and I2C.
• Experience specifying, designing, implementing, and testing bare metal and RTOS firmware.
• Ability to resolve ambiguous requirements and document firmware architecture.
• Develop real-time software components and interfaces.
• MISRA guidelines experience.
• Traceability per ASPICE and ISO26262.
• Collaborate with hardware and perform bench/HIL debugging.
• Profile power/CPU/bus usage and optimize performance.
• Coordinate with V&V to develop test plans and validate firmware across conditions.
• Interface with external vendors and review firmware specifications.
• Automate unit tests in nightly builds using Python scripting.
• Provide bench support to offshore team and deliver releases on time.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software for distributed embedded systems.

• Create and test bare metal and RTOS firmware for scalable platforms.
• Ensure MISRA/ASPICE/ISO26262 compliance and traceability.
• Collaborate with hardware, V&V, and offshore teams; provide triage support.
• Automate unit tests and nightly builds with Python scripting.
• Optimize power, CPU, and bus usage; support release delivery.
