Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. is hiring a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to design, implement, and optimize embedded systems across a broad product portfolio.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software for real-time platforms and bare-metal environments. The role emphasizes C/C++ proficiency, RTOS expertise (Zephyr/Linux), and deep hardware knowledge of SPI/I2C/UART/CAN, peripherals, and multi-core validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; master’s preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Extensive embedded software development with strong C/C++ skills.
• Proficiency in software for microcontrollers and microprocessors.
• Experience with bare-metal, RTOS, Zephyr, or Linux.
• Knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, CAN and peripherals (ADCs, DACs, timers, PWMs, GPIO).
• Experience in multi-core validation, unit testing, verification, and test automation.
• Experience integrating, building, and testing multi-threaded applications.
• Experience in Python programming.
• Git and VCS mastery; open-source contributions are a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with IDEs and lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzers, signal generators, JTAG/ICE).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with software architecture and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain embedded software for diverse hardware platforms.
• Lead software architecture, integration, and system testing; mentor junior engineers.
• Develop embedded software for RTOS and bare-metal environments (Zephyr/Linux).
• Define and execute system-level test strategies across subsystems.
• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks; conduct tests and document defects.
• Collaborate with software, hardware teams to define requirements and integration.
• Perform thorough testing, debugging, and validation for performance and reliability.
• Optimize code for performance, memory, and power usage.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain best practices.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies; produce technical docs.
• Contribute to open-source initiatives on large codebases.
