About the role

This is a specialized position in the field of radiologic technology which handles patient care and treatment delivery involving cancer patients. The radiation therapy technologist is a clinical position which involves a good understanding of the anatomical positioning required for accurate and precise patient setup for administration of treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and apply appropriate treatment accessories and administration of fractionated dose during patient treatment
• Handle complex equipment such as linear accelerator and brachytherapy units
• Exercise good judgement of radiation protection safety to lower the risk of radiation exposure
• Manage patient handling with extended understanding and patience to deliver the approved treatment plan by radiation oncologists
• Interact with different personnel such as medical physicists and radiation oncology nurses to plan the most applicable treatment for the patient
