- Performs diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-ray examinations, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT) scans and Ultrasound
- Follows instructions from Physicians regarding which area of the patient’s body needs imaging
- Correctly positions the patient, adjusts the imaging equipment to the specified position
- Produces diagnostic images, reporting important information to the Physician, and updating patients' records
- Talks the patient through the procedure and answers questions to lower their anxiety
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment
- Monitors patients during examinations, ensuring their safety, and following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation to the patients and themselves
- Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders
What will you do:
- Carry out magnetic resonance imaging procedures to best practice standards of radiographic technique.
- Provide a great experience for patients attending for MRI scanning, supporting them through the process from referral to results
- Run quality assurance checks on equipment and action as appropriate
- Respect and work within patient's and service users' customs, values and spiritual beliefs, making sure their views are sought and considered.
- Support patient bookings and make sure Patient Information Systems are maintained with accurate and up-to-date information
- Understand and work in line with our suite of corporate policies supporting personal and clinical safety, including the Health and Safety Policy and Infection Prevention and Control Policy
- Demonstrate safe, effective practice in line with policies and procedures
- Maintain professional competencies and CPD.
- Take ownership and fulfil the requirements of any required statutory and mandatory training
What you are responsible for:
Adhering to all operational procedures as outlined by Himex Corp. (daily returns, timesheets, private mileage returns, etc)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and must be a Licensed Radiologic Technologist
- At least 2 to 3 years experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and compassion
- Good mathematical abilities and technical skills
