Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for operating diagnostic imaging equipment to produce high-quality radiographs that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patient injuries and illnesses. The role requires strict adherence to radiation safety protocols, exceptional patient care, and accurate documentation within the clinic's health information systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Greet patients, explain imaging procedures to alleviate anxiety, answer questions, and assist patients in positioning themselves correctly on the examining table.

2. Safely and effectively operate X-ray machines and other imaging equipment (Ultrasound, if applicable to the clinic's facilities).

3. Adjust equipment settings (exposure time, distance, and kVp) to achieve optimal image quality while minimizing radiation exposure. Evaluate generated images for clarity and diagnostic value.

4. Strictly practice the "As Low As Reasonably Achievable" (ALARA) principles. Provide and use protective shielding (e.g., lead aprons, thyroid shields) for patients, staff, and self.

5. Accurately update patient records, input imaging data into the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

6. Perform routine maintenance checks on imaging equipment, calibrate machines, troubleshoot basic technical issues, and report malfunctions to the department head or manager of branch.

7. Sanitize examination rooms and equipment between patients in compliance with clinic health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (BSRT) from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) License as a Radiologic Technologist.

• Previous clinical experience or a completed internship in a hospital or diagnostic clinic setting. (Specify 1-2 years preferred) However, the position is open to newly licensed board passers.
