Position: Quality & Regulatory Compliance Lead (Remote Work)

JOB PURPOSE:
- The purpose of the Quality & Regulatory Compliance Lead role is to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout the organization's operations.
- This position is pivotal in overseeing the implementation of effective quality assurance systems, conducting thorough regulatory compliance checks, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- By focusing on key result areas (KRAs) such as quality assurance, regulatory compliance, audits, investigations, and training, the Quality & Regulatory Compliance Lead ensures that products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Additionally, this role plays a crucial part in fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across internal teams and external stakeholders.
Job Description
Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with Quality Standards by adherence to MPI Food Safety Program and Addiction Foods QA manual.
- All raw materials meet set standards for physical and chemical analysis.
- Effective testing and research on new alternative raw materials and packaging materials.
- Accurate testing and reporting on nutritional nutrients and physical properties for new materials.
- Stability of new packaging materials in various conditions is thoroughly tested and verified.
- Consistent quality control checks on processes and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct weekly and monthly evaluations of retention samples to assess product condition over time.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure Compliance with Regulatory Standards: by adherence to local and international regulatory standards for food safety and quality. Maintain up-to-date and accurate regulatory documentation for all products.
- Successful assistance and management during external and regulatory audits.
- Timely implementation of any changes in regulations affecting quality control and product safety.
- Continuous monitoring and updating of practices to comply with current regulations.
Audit & Compliance
- Conduct regular internal audits ensuring compliance with GMP and 5S standards.
- Leading and managing the Addiction Pet foods supplier audit program effectively.
- Successful assistance and management during external and regulatory audits.
- Effective documentation and communication of quality standards across the team and business.
- Investigations & Corrective Actions Identify and resolve QA/QC Issues by root cause analysis of problems identified and corrective actions implemented.
- Continuous monitoring and effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
- Development and improvement of SOPs from raw materials to finished goods.
Training & Development
- Ensure staff are adequately trained and provided with necessary materials related to corrective actions. Ensure staff are proficient in conducting sensory testing and using relevant equipment for product assessment.
Incident & Complaints Management
- All incident reports, customer complaints, and H&S reports are recorded and resolved promptly.
Health & Safety
- All activities comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and company policies.
- Hazards and risks are eliminated, isolated, or minimized in all departments.
- Accurate and timely reporting of all accidents, near misses, and hazards.
- Ensures staff are trained to operate forklifts and machinery safely.
New Product Development
- Effective collaboration on new product development and packaging checklist updates.
- Packaging review ensuring alignment on any regulatory requirement for New Market/ Country Regulatory requirements/ access
Adhoc
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned either individually or as part of a committee or team.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the food industry.
- Strong background in quality control and regulatory compliance both technical and application.
- Experience with high standards of Quality Control and Regulations.
- Thorough understanding of the MPI Food Safety Program, HACCP standards, and AAFCO standards.
- Good quality management experience.
- Solid analytical skills and computer proficiency.
- Detail-oriented with excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
