The Quality Engineering Manager (QEM) leads the end-to-end quality strategy across all digital product pillars within the Digital Products & Platforms (DPP) organization.
This role is responsible for establishing QA standards, driving automation-first testing, ensuring release readiness, and improving the reliability and stability of digital applications across web, mobile, operational platforms, and backend services.
The QEM manages a team of Test Automation Engineers and Functional Test Analysts, partnering closely with Product Managers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure every product release meets quality, performance, and usability standards.
Define the QA strategy, standards, and processes for the DPP organization.
Build and maintain a quality engineering roadmap, including automation and tooling strategy.
Manage Quality Engineering staff, workload distribution, capability development, and performance.
Lead the adoption of automated testing for regression, functional, API, and performance testing.
Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of automation scripts and frameworks.
Ensure efficient regression cycles and minimize manual testing dependencies.
Evaluate, select, and optimize testing tools and platforms.
Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional, integration, performance, and UX testing.
Develop test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria standards across product teams.
Oversee UAT planning and execution with business teams and product managers.
Implement structured release governance and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Drive root cause analysis for defects and production issues.
Create structured feedback loops with engineering and product teams.
Monitor system stability, incident trends, and regression performance.
Establish quality gates and continuous testing practices.
Work with Product Managers to understand requirements, success criteria, and risks.
Partner with engineering teams to ensure alignment on architecture and technical constraints.
Collaborate with UX to validate usability and customer experience standards.
Coordinate with operations teams for release support and post-launch monitoring.
Track and report QA metrics (defect rates, regression performance, test coverage).
Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and propose solutions for improvement.
Introduce QA best practices across the SDLC to improve delivery velocity and stability.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
Minimum 6–10 years in software quality assurance or quality engineering.
At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial QA role.
Strong experience with test automation (functional, API, and regression).
Experience working with agile teams across web, mobile, or platform development.
Proven experience improving quality processes, reducing defect leakage, and driving automation adoption.
Experience managing QA teams, mentoring junior testers, and setting quality standards.
Performance testing or load testing experience is an advantage.
Strong understanding of modern QA methodologies (automation-first, CI/CD testing, shift-left testing).
Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, mobile automation tools).
Solid understanding of APIs, integration testing, and backend validation.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Strong understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple workstreams.
