About menumiz:
menumiz is a leading hospitality technology and payment company that provides AI-powered POS and comprehensive hospitality solutions through its brands: menumiz, Hospoware, Hospoforce, Hospomarket, and Restaurantility. Our mission is to collaborate closely with hospitality operators to optimize operations, boost revenue, and elevate guest experience using cutting‑edge technology.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be the final line of defense, ensuring our software and AI-driven features are reliable, secure, and resilient.
You won’t just follow standard test plans—you will think like an adversarial user. You will actively design complex test scenarios, discover unexpected edge cases, and stress-test our application to ensure high quality in an fast-moving, AI-accelerated development environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Case & Scenario Design: Write comprehensive, structured test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases from requirement specs and product workflows.
- Adversarial & Edge-Case Testing: Actively attempt to “break” system features using negative testing, boundary‑value analysis, jailbreaking/prompt injection checks, and invalid data inputs.
- AI & Logic Validation: Test non-deterministic outputs, evaluate AI-driven responses for accuracy, detect hallucinations or logical regressions, and verify guardrail enforcement.
- Exploratory Testing: Perform unscripted, deep‑dive testing to uncover hidden bugs and edge cases that automated scripts or traditional test cases might miss.
- Defect Lifecycle Management: Document bugs with clear, unambiguous reproduction steps, actual vs. expected behavior, logs, and severity ratings in Jira/Linear.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with software developers and product managers to clarify acceptance criteria and perform root cause analysis on recurring issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of hands‑on experience in manual software testing, functional/non‑functional testing, and regression testing.
- Testing Methodologies: Deep understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Boundary Value Analysis (BVA), Equivalence Partitioning, and Risk-based Testing.
- Adversarial Mindset: Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills with a passion for finding edge cases and unexpected system behaviors.
- Technical Literacy:
- Ability to inspect web pages, review browser network tabs, and read basic application logs.
- Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman, cURL, or Insomnia.
- Basic knowledge of SQL queries to inspect and verify database states.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain technical issues to engineering teams.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience testing LLMs, GenAI models, RAG pipelines, or AI-powered features.
- Familiarity with security testing concepts (OWASP Top 10 for LLMs / Web Apps).
- Exposure to basic test automation concepts or Python/JavaScript scripting.
