Job summary

Bounty Fresh Food, Inc. is seeking a Chemist/Chemical Technician to perform laboratory tests on submitted samples, record results, and maintain quality standards in a clean, safe lab environment.

The role requires a Chemistry degree and a licensed chemist/technician, with or without experience. The incumbent will standardize reagents, calibrate instruments, and support cost analysis and training activities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
• Licensed Chemist or Chemical Technician is required.
• Experience is not required or is optional.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs chemical tests in the laboratory on samples submitted in accordance with the standard laboratory procedures;
• Records test results and maintains quality/quantity standards by ensuring that all requirements were met;
• Prepares and standardizes chemical reagents and solutions;
• Ensures efficient laboratory equipment performance and safe working environment;
• Assists in establishing quality standards developing operations, quality, and troubleshooting procedures;
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on laboratory equipment;
• Calibrates laboratory instruments needed;
• Ensures cleanliness in the laboratory by following 5S;
• Follows the safety rules for all personnel working in the laboratory;
• Validates laboratory procedures to determine the need to update the Lab Procedure Manual;
• Develops new laboratory test procedures, methods, and instrumentation by researching new alternatives; preparing proposals; developing and performing parallel testing;
• Assists in the preparation of Monthly Laboratory Cost of Analysis;
• Trains new supervisory trainees;
• Maintains confidentiality to all test procedures, test results, product specifications, clients and suppliers;
• Performs related duties as assigned.
