Job summary

Hon-Kwang Electric (Philippines) is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform visual inspection of PCB assemblies and SMT products during production, verify solder joints, orientation, and workmanship against work instructions and drawings. You will help ensure components meet quality standards.

You will maintain inspection records, report defects, support root cause analysis, and collaborate with Production and Engineering on quality issues, while adhering to ESD practices and documenting results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or undergraduate qualification is required.
• Knowledge of PCB Assembly and SMT processes preferred.
• Familiar with PCB components, polarity/orientation, soldering, and solder defects.
• Knowledge of common SMT defects (solder bridging, tombstoning, misalignment).
• Knowledge of ESD control and proper handling of electronic components.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of PCB/SMT components, solder joints, orientation, and workmanship.
• Check products based on approved work instructions, specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
• Identify and report defects, abnormalities, and non-conforming products during production.
• Assist in monitoring SMT production processes, including component mounting, soldering, and PCB assembly.
• Perform in-process and final inspection and ensure products meet customer and company requirements.
• Coordinate with Production and Engineering regarding quality issues and process abnormalities.
• Prepare inspection records, defect reports, and other required quality documentation.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring quality problems.
• Ensure proper handling, identification, and segregation of defective or non-conforming products.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper ESD practices in the work area.

About the role

About you

• Knowledge of common SMT defects such as solder bridging, insufficient solder, tombstoning, misalignment, wrong component, missing component, and wrong orientation
• Knowledge of ESD control and proper handling of electronic components
• Keen attention to detail and good observation skills
• Willing to work in a manufacturing/production environment and under shifting schedules
