Job summary

Thakral One is seeking a QA Tester to support functional and automated testing across web, API, backend, and insurance applications. You will work in Agile delivery teams to help ensure the quality, stability, and reliability of insurance systems while collaborating with Developers, BAs, Product Owners, and Scrum teams.

You will design, develop, and maintain test cases and automation scripts for web, API, and backend apps, perform SQL data validation, and participate in Agile ceremonies.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of QA or software testing experience.
• 2–3+ years of experience within the Insurance domain.
• Understand the insurance policy lifecycle and core processes.
• Experience testing Policy Administration, Claims, Underwriting, Billing/Payments, Renewals/Endorsements.
• Experience in functional and automation testing, API testing, and backend testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Knowledge of insurance platforms like Guidewire, Duck Creek, or Majesco is preferred.
• Experience supporting enterprise insurance transformation programmes is a plus.

As a QA Tester, you will support functional and automated testing across web, API, backend, and integrated insurance applications. Working within Agile delivery teams, you will help ensure the quality, stability, and reliability of insurance systems and business processes while collaborating closely with technical and business stakeholders.

What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain test cases and automated test scripts for web, API, and backend applications.
• Deliver functional, integration, regression, and release validation testing to ensure application quality and stability.
• Analyse test results, troubleshoot failures, and maintain reliable automation test suites.
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and test reports to support execution and traceability.
• Perform SQL-based database validation and backend testing to verify data accuracy and application behaviour.
• Identify, log, track, retest, and verify defects using Jira or similar tools.
• Collaborate closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Scrum teams.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support release validation and production testing activities.
• Contribute to automation best practices and provide guidance to junior QA engineers.

Insurance Domain Responsibilities

• Validate end-to-end insurance workflows across Policy Administration, Claims Management, Underwriting, Billing and Payments, Renewals and Endorsements, and Customer/Agent Portals.
• Apply knowledge of insurance business rules, transaction processing, compliance requirements, and product processes when developing and executing test scenarios.
• Partner with business stakeholders to ensure accurate validation of insurance products and processes.

Experience

• You have 3-8 years of QA or software testing experience.
• You have 2-3+ years of experience within the Insurance domain.
• You understand the insurance policy lifecycle.
• You have tested Policy Administration, Claims Processing, Underwriting, Billing/Payments, or Renewals/Endorsements.
• You have experience in functional and automation testing, API testing, and backend testing.
• You have worked within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• You may have experience with insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, or Majesco (preferred).
• You may have supported enterprise-scale insurance transformation programmes (preferred).

Technical Expertise

• You have working knowledge of SQL for database and data validation.
• You have experience with Jira or similar defect management tools.
