Job summary

Umpisa Inc. is seeking a QA Lead (Manual and Automation) to oversee end-to-end Quality Assurance, guide the QA team, and strengthen automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API testing.

You will drive test strategy, planning, execution, and governance in collaboration with Engineering, Product, and DevOps to deliver secure and reliable product releases. The Senior QA Lead / QA Manager will mentor engineers, manage resources, track quality metrics, and continuously improve testing practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years in Quality Assurance / Software Testing with at least 3 years in senior, lead, or manager roles.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing across web, API, and mobile apps.
• Hands-on with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
• Experience designing or maintaining automation frameworks and improving automation coverage.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in test planning, strategy, defect management, and release readiness.
• Experience with Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example in mobile and web testing, verification and validation.
• Set best practices and standards for quality management across projects.
• Prepare team plans for Automated Test Suite and DevOps pipelines.
• Manage QA automation projects (monolithic, frontend, microservices, API) with full ownership of quality.
• Be the main quality gate keeper within the agile team.
• Ensure QA standards across all test phases and deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, devops, and stakeholders.
• Communicate testing progress and challenges in daily standups.
• Define testable user stories and prepare test scenarios and test cases.
• Execute and automate test cases and report results.
• Respond quickly to changes and improve test cases as needed.
• Plan and organize QA activities and issue escalation.
