Job summary

KodeAcross is seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer for a project-based engagement. You will design, build, and run automated tests for web and mobile apps, while maintaining rigorous manual testing when needed.

You will translate technical bugs into clear insights for stakeholders, collaborate with developers, product managers, and UI/UX designers, and ensure quality is baked into the development lifecycle. The role is hybrid, with occasional face-to-face meetings within Metro Manila.

Qualifications

• Experience with web automation tools (Selenium/Cypress/Playwright).
• Hands-on mobile automation testing with Appium.
• API testing with RESTful APIs (Postman/SoapUI).
• CI/CD integration and version control (Git, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins).
• Defect tracking using GitLab and Agile practices.

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer to join our team on a project basis. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of our web and mobile applications. You will design, build, and execute automated test scripts while maintaining rigorous manual testing standards when necessary. As a key bridge between technical execution and business needs, you must be an excellent communicator capable of translating technical bugs into clear insights for stakeholders.

• Employment Type: Project-based / Contract
• Location: Hybrid (Remote, but must be available for occasional face-to-face meetings within Metro Manila)

Key Responsibilities

• Test Automation & Execution: Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks for both web and mobile platforms.
• End-to-End Testing: Conduct functional, regression, integration, and UI testing across various browsers, devices, and operating systems.
• Bug Tracking & Reporting: Identify, log, and track defects using project management tools. Provide clear, reproducible steps and detailed technical data.
• Stakeholder Communication: Present QA metrics, test summaries, and project risk assessments to both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and UI/UX designers to understand requirements and ensure quality is baked into the development lifecycle.

Requirements & Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Web Automation: Proven experience with tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Mobile Automation: Hands-on experience testing iOS and Android applications using Appium or similar frameworks.
• API Testing: Proficiency in testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
• CI/CD & Version Control: Familiarity with Git and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins).
• Defect Management: Expertise using GitLab for bug tracking and agile project management.

Soft Skills & Logistics

• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to confidently report to stakeholders.
• Location: Must be residing within or near Metro Manila and willing to attend on-site meetings, workshops, or sprint planning sessions as needed.
• Self-Management: Highly organized and capable of delivering high-quality work independently under a project-based timeline.
