QA Automation Engineer

Job summary

IT Managers, Inc. in the Philippines seeks a QA Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Katalon Studio, and perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.

You will create comprehensive test cases, run API tests with Postman or similar, validate data with SQL, and collaborate with developers in an Agile environment to improve QA processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in Software Testing or Quality Assurance.
• Strong hands-on experience with Katalon Studio for test automation.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts.
• Strong knowledge of Functional, Regression, Integration, SIT, UAT, and End-to-End testing.
• Experience with API testing using Katalon, Postman, or similar tools.
• Experience with SQL and database testing.
• Experience with defect and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Katalon Studio.
• Perform Functional, Regression, Integration, System, and End-to-End testing.
• Create comprehensive test cases and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform API testing using Katalon Studio and/or tools such as Postman.
• Execute automated and manual tests and analyze test results.
• Identify, document, track, and validate software defects through resolution.
• Perform data validation and database testing using SQL.
• Maintain and enhance existing automation test suites and frameworks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to investigate and resolve defects.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous QA process improvements.
• Prepare test execution reports, defect reports, and other QA documentation.
• Support SIT, UAT, release validation, and production verification activities.

• Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience in Banking, Insurance, Financial Services, or other regulated industries is a plus.
