Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Purchasing Leader in the Philippines to drive end-to-end procurement in a global manufacturing setup. You will lead supplier negotiations, manage blanket orders and long-term agreements, and ensure alignment with production requirements across global and local stakeholders.

The role requires strong negotiation, MIN/MAX planning, forecast accuracy, and inventory management, with a proactive mindset to optimize cost, quality, and delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Lead and execute end-to-end purchasing activities to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, driving performance, quality, and competitive pricing.
• Negotiate contracts, including blanket orders and long-term agreements, to secure optimal commercial terms.
• Manage open purchase orders, expedite critical materials, and ensure alignment with production requirements.
• Drive MIN/MAX planning, demand forecasting, and inventory optimization in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Lead payment term negotiations and push back on unfavourable supplier conditions when necessary.
• Support localization initiatives and sourcing strategies to improve supply chain resilience and cost efficiency.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with global and local stakeholders to align procurement strategies and execution.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Purchasing Leader should have:

• A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Strong experience in discrete manufacturing with hands-on material purchasing exposure.
• Proven experience managing blanket orders, long-term agreements, and open purchase orders.
• Solid background in MIN/MAX planning, demand forecasting, and inventory management.
• Strong negotiation skills, including experience in payment term extensions and supplier management.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, with exposure to PCB or Gerber files as an advantage.
• Experience driving localization or sourcing initiatives.
• A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge suppliers and drive results.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in a global setup.
