Job summary

New Hieghts Venture is seeking a Material Engineer I to monitor, test, and ensure quality and compliance of construction materials used on site. The role covers laboratory and field testing, report preparation, and coordination with project teams to meet specifications and standards.

The candidate will perform material testing for concrete, soil, aggregates, and asphalt, maintain test documentation, and ensure proper handling of samples. On-site project-based work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required or equivalent.
• Licensed Civil Engineer preferred.
• Experience in construction materials testing and quality control.
• Familiar with DPWH, ASTM and AASHTO standards.
• Laboratory and field testing procedures knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Experience in road and bridge construction preferred.
• Willing to work on-site and on a project-based arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory and field testing of construction materials (concrete, soil, aggregates, asphalt).

The position involves laboratory and field testing, preparation of material test reports, and coordination with project teams to ensure materials meet required project specifications and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory and field testing of construction materials such as concrete, soil, aggregates, asphalt, and other related materials.
• Perform quality control and quality assurance activities for construction materials.
• Ensure materials comply with project specifications and applicable DPWH, ASTM, and AASHTO standards.
• Prepare, review, and maintain material testing reports and quality documentation.
• Monitor material testing activities and ensure proper documentation of test results.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, suppliers, and other project personnel regarding material quality concerns.
• Assist in identifying and reporting non-conforming materials or test results.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory and field testing activities.
• Ensure proper handling, sampling, testing, and documentation of construction materials.
• Perform other related duties that may be assigned by the Project Manager or immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Preferably a Licensed Civil Engineer.
