About theRole:We are looking for a Project Manager to support the implementation and management of a school-based mental health research project in Mansa block, Gandhinagar district, Gujarat. The Project Manager willbe responsible foroverseeing field operations, coordinating with schools and project team, supervising field staff, ensuringqualityandtimelyimplementation of project activities, and supporting research and documentation requirements.

  • Oversee day-to-day implementation of the project across field sites, ensuring that project activities are completed as planned and within timelines.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support project staff, including counsellors, data collectors, and other field team members. Monitor work plans, performance, field schedules, and deliverables, and build the capacity of field teams.
  • Coordinate regularly with school authorities, community members, government stakeholders, and other project partners to facilitate smooth implementation of project activities.
  • Support implementation of research activities, including participant recruitment, consent and data collection, intervention delivery, follow-up activities, and adherence to study protocols.
  • Monitor implementation quality and research processes across field sites on a daily basis. Identify challenges and deviations early, support corrective action, and ensure adherence to project protocols and timelines.
  • Oversee the quality and completeness of field data and project documentation. Support data review, tracking of project indicators, maintenance of records, and timely reporting to the project team.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities, provide on-site support to field teams, troubleshoot implementation challenges, and elevate issues requiring higher-level attention.
  • Work closely with the research and project management teams to plan activities, review progress, track timelines, and support effective implementation of the project.
  • Maintain clear and systematic documentation of project activities, field observations, meetings, challenges, decisions, and progress in English and Gujarati.
Qualifications & Skills
ESSENTIAL
  • Master’s degree in social work, social sciences, public health, psychology, mental health, development studies, or other allied fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in managing field sites, field teams, research projects, or public health/mental health programmes.
  • Experience in supervising and coordinating field staff and managing day-to-day field operations.
  • Experience in implementing or coordinating research projects, preferably in public health, mental health, education, or community-based settings.
  • Strong organisational, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to field sites in Mansa block, Gandhinagar district.
  • Proficiency in Gujarati; ability to read and write Gujarati will be preferred.
DESIRABLE
  • Experience working on adolescent mental health or public health programmes.
  • Experience with research data collection, monitoring and evaluation, and data quality processes.
  • Experience with qualitative research methods and/or qualitative data analysis.
  • Experience in supervising counsellors, community workers, data collectors, or other field teams.
  • Experience working with government departments, schools, NGOs, or other community-level stakeholders
