Centre for Mental Health Law & Policy is seeking a State Program Coordinator to drive Atmiyata field implementation in partnership with ILS in Sikkim. The role focuses on leading program rollout, building district capacity, and coordinating with government and non-government stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in a relevant field, 3–4 years of field experience, and a proven ability to manage multi-district programs. Willingness to travel extensively is essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, social science, public health or allied fields.
  • 3–4 years of relevant field experience, preferably in community health or mental health programs.
  • Experience in managing multi-district or state-level programs.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across districts and field locations.
  • Strong ability to liaise and coordinate with stakeholders at block, district, and state levels, including government departments.
  • Proficiency in Nepali or relevant local languages and proficiency in English/Hindi.
  • Experience in program management, supervision of district teams, and capacity building.
  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of large-scale programs.

  • Program Implementation: Lead the implementation of Atmiyata across the State while ensuring the effectiveness and fidelity of the intervention.
  • Capacity Building: Identify, train, mentor, and support district teams to deliver the intervention as planned.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate and maintain regular communication with relevant stakeholders at state and district levels.
  • Problem-Solving: Address implementation challenges proactively and escalate issues to higher management when needed.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor data, track indicators, and assist in program reporting.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct periodic field visits to support district teams and ensure quality of implementation.

Job description

We are looking for a State Program Coordinator to support with Field Implementation for Atmiyata.

CMHLP, ILS has partnered with Sikkim INSPIRES to implement Atmiyata in Sikkim across the state. This job post is for implementation of Atmiyata in Sikkim. Atmiyata is a low cost, high impact, sustainable and scalable intervention that complements the public mental health system, aimed at reducing the mental health and social care gap. At present, Atmiyata is being implemented in 13 states across India.

  • Program Implementation: Lead the implementation of Atmiyata across the State while ensuring the effectiveness and fidelity of the intervention
  • Capacity Building: Identify, train, mentor, and support district teams to deliver the intervention as planned.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate and maintain regular communication with relevant stakeholders (such as Government, non-government, and community stakeholders) at the state and district levels to ensure the smooth functioning of Atmiyata.
  • Problem-Solving: Address implementation challenges proactively, manage or resolve crises effectively, and escalated critical issues to higher management in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and analyse project data, track the outcome indicators, and provide regular feedback to district teams. Support in generating and reviewing program reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct periodic field visits to support district teams and to ensure the quality of implementation.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Master’s degree in social work, social science, public health or other allied fields
  • 3-4 years of relevant field experience, preferably in community health or mental health programs
  • Experience in managing multi-district or state-level programs
  • Willingness to travel extensively across districts and field locations
  • Strong technical skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data management tools
  • Strong ability to liaise and coordinate with stakeholders at block, district, and state levels, including government departments
  • Proficiency in Nepali or relevant local languages and proficiency in English/Hindi
  • Experience in program management, supervision of district teams, and capacity building
  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of large-scale programs
