Project Manager – Core Banking Operations

Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Finance Project Manager to lead the core banking system implementation from the Finance side, owning scope, milestones, dependencies, and risk tracking.

You will coordinate with IT/Engineering, vendors, Finance, and Compliance, translating regulatory obligations into system requirements and driving automation of accounting processes using Odoo or similar ERP.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in finance/accounting project management.
• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and the close process.
• Proven experience leading or driving process-automation initiatives.
• Practical Odoo or comparable ERP experience for accounting automation.
• Strong IT literacy, including system architecture, data flows, and technical requirements.
• Strong project-management discipline, including scoping, milestone tracking, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
• Ability to turn messy, ambiguous problems into a plan with real milestones.
• Relocation to Manila, Philippines required.
• Ability to work core hours from 12 PM to 6 PM (GMT+8).
• English level must be specified; Russian level must be specified.

Responsibilities

• Lead the core banking system project from the Finance side, owning scope, milestones, dependencies, and risk tracking.
• Represent Finance as a subject-matter voice across vendor selection, design, and rollout.
• Run UAT, data-migration validation, and cutover planning from the Finance side.
• Coordinate with IT/Engineering, vendors, Finance, and Compliance.
• Surface regulatory gaps tied to system limitations and help close them.
• Keep Finance leadership informed about progress, risks, and dependencies.
• Translate accounting needs, BSP/MORB regulatory obligations, and product-administration realities into system requirements.
• Build and drive the accounting-backlog remediation plan.
• Integrate month-end and period-end close and reporting with the GL through the core banking system.
• Take Odoo accounting automation into an owned, documented, controlled, and audit-ready process.
• Identify and prioritize efficiency gains through automation of manual entries, reconciliations, and reporting, using AI where applicable.
• Contribute to IPO-readiness work involving financial systems and controls.
