Job summary

The University’s IT-PMO seeks a Project Manager to lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of IT initiatives on a contractual, per-need basis. You will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the defined scope and quality objectives.

You’ll lead cross-functional teams, engage Senior Management and key stakeholders, mitigate risks, and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
• PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent certification is preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in IT project management, delivering complex IT projects.
• Strong knowledge of PM methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) and tools (MS Project, Jira, Asana).
• Proficiency in planning, risk management, issue resolution, and change control; strong leadership and communication.

The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and successful delivery of specific IT projects within the university, as assigned by the Director of the IT-PMO. This is a contractual, project-based position hired on a per-need basis, depending on the scale and complexity of ongoing IT initiatives. The Project Manager ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet defined scope and quality objectives, adhering to the IT-PMO’s established methodologies and standards. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, engaging with Senior Management and Key Stakeholders, mitigating risks, and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
• Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 Practitioner, or an equivalent recognized project management certification is preferred.
• At least five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of delivering complex IT projects involving software development, infrastructure implementation, or system integration. Experience in an academic or large institutional setting is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Scrum), tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana), and the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
• Proficiency in project planning, risk management, issue resolution, and change control, with strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and familiarity with IT infrastructure, software development, and database concepts.
