Senior Project Manager for Software Implementation

The Senior Project Manager for Software Implementation is responsible for managing end-to-end delivery of software implementation projects, from requirements gathering and planning up to deployment, go-live, and post-implementation support. The role ensures that business requirements are properly translated into project deliverables, implementation timelines are met, risks are managed, and stakeholders are aligned throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software implementation projects from initiation, planning, execution, testing, deployment, and closure.
• Work with business stakeholders, product owners, business analysts, technical leads, developers, QA teams, vendors, and clients.
• Define project scope, objectives, milestones, timeline, deliverables, dependencies, and success criteria.
• Create and maintain project plans, implementation schedules, RAID logs, status reports, issue trackers, and governance documents.
• Facilitate requirements gathering, solution walkthroughs, design discussions, UAT planning, deployment readiness, and go-live reviews and hypercare activities.
• Manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, change requests, and project escalations.
• Coordinate system integration activities, data migration, environment readiness, access requirements, and production deployment planning.
• Ensure project deliverables are aligned with agreed scope, quality standards, and business requirements.
• Track project progress, resource allocation, budget, billing milestones, and overall project health.
• Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, leadership, and steering committees, along with plans, deployment plans, training materials, and closure documents.
• Support process improvement and contribute to PMO standards, templates, and delivery best practices.
• Mentor junior project managers and guide project teams on implementation governance and delivery discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 5–8 years of project management experience, with strong experience in software implementation, system integration, digital transformation, SaaS implementation, or enterprise application projects.
• Experience managing full software development or implementation lifecycle.
• Experience working with technical teams, business teams, vendors, and client stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodology.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, Agile, ITIL, or related certification is an advantage.
