Job summary

SMEC (An SJ Group Company) seeks a senior Civil Engineer with deep expertise in dredging, reservoir rehabilitation, and dam safety to lead complex infrastructure projects in the Philippines. The role requires coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, interpreting plans, and ensuring compliant reporting and documentation.

Ideal candidates hold advanced degrees, a professional license, and extensive experience with FIDIC contracts and hydrographic surveys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Master's Degree in Hydraulic/Water Resources Engineering is preferred.
• Licensed/Registered Civil Engineer required.
• Training in Marine/Dredging Operations is preferred.
• Construction Safety Certification recommended.
• Environmental Management Certification (ISO 14001) beneficial.
• QA/QC or Construction Inspection Training preferred.
• Hydrographic Survey Training advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Strong knowledge of dredging methodologies (cutter suction, clamshell, backhoe dredging).
• Experience in large-scale reservoir rehabilitation projects.
• Understanding of sediment transport and reservoir siltation.
• Familiarity with hydrographic survey software.
• Knowledge of dam safety and intake protection requirements.
• Experience under FIDIC-based contracts.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and dredging plans.
• Experience in international donor-funded projects.
• Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of project scheduling basics (Primavera/MS Project).
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
